BFF Photo Shoot!

People have been asking me what was the shoot for, if we travelled to Bangkok just for it, where was the photographer from, who did our make-up, etc. Obviously never read my blog  lol. I was thinking instead of having a bachelorette party, I rather spend time quality time with each of my 'sisters'. This trip to Bangkok was for my best friend and also my maid of honor, to do what we do best - shopping! And I've been wanting to have a shoot with her since years ago cos I think our friendship was worthy enough la haha! She'd been the sister I never had. So when would be a better time than now right? Wished we done it earlier though, when we are skinnier, more youthful and when our chins are still around lol. #hardtoplease

A little into our history...both of us were in the same Primary 1 class but we never spoke to each other somehow (not in our memories), maybe she was taller so she's always either seated at the back of the class or standing behind the line lol. Thinking about it now, it's really quite odd! Both of us went to different classes after and we ended up in the same class in Secondary 1 (and for the rest of the secondary school years)! We hardly spoke and according to Shereen, she refused to talk to me cos she felt that I was 'arrogant' *rolls eyes*. I'm how nice please, anyhow judge me one this person, so bad lol. So anyways, somehow we got closer only in Secondary 2 and that's how this precious friendship started. We stuck around each other almost every single day, did everything and anything together. We realised we are quite different, in terms of character, taste in guys lol, personality, priorities, food choices, etc. We frequently use our "Chicken Rice" story to explain to others how different we are.

One evening at the chicken rice stall for dinner,

Shereen: "Uncle, can I have roasted chicken tail rice please? "
Gina: "Uncle, can I have white chicken breast please?"
Uncle:
Us:

We burst out laughing almost immediately cos even our choice in chicken rice is so different! Some of our differences does annoy me, Shereen is a naturally turn left person and I'm a naturally turn right person, whenever we travel or at the shopping mall, we will end up walking separately (sometimes still yakking away thinking we are still together ). This is still happening now, especially when the escalator ride ends...high chance you'll see us splitting from there lol.

She loves the sun and I can't hate it more. And the list goes on. This year will be our 15th year anniversary, crystal anniversary ok lol wth sounds a little too romantic but yes, we have been friends for 15 years. Many friends came and left but we managed to stick around even after both of us went to different schools, took on different jobs, etc. We grew up together and we went through many different experiences together, and we are still doing so now.

Cos we went way back, our conversations need not to be too detailed or too lengthy to understand each other. I could totally read her alien language on whatsapp (yes she is one of those that even autocorrect can't help her and she doesn't even bother making amendments) and she would totally get me when I call her for emotional SOS. And I know for sure she will be there for me somehow whenever I need her. This friendship is amazing, really. If a wedding shoot is to capture the couple's precious moments, I think our friendship is equally precious too, and here...that's my reason for this BFF shoot!

Be warned, photo heavy post!

The shoot was super fun and I'm just really glad we did it! It wasn't easy, plenty of NG shots hahahaha, maybe I'll pick a few to share for laughs! Girls! What are you waiting for? Start planning your BFF shoot now!
