Perth Day 1

Super overdue post but I still wanna share! Last month, W & I visited Perth, Australia. It is my first time but I've heard so much from others. Almost everyone I knew who visited Perth never told me about how wonderful that place is. All I get is "It's damn boring one!".

So, I really visited the city with no expectations. Although, I had a few places in mind to visit but I decided the main purpose of the trip was to enjoy our pre-wedding shoots!

BUT, SERIOUSLY GUYS. How can Perth City be boring? I must admit W & I were really curious what the locals do every night since 90% of the shops close by 6pm. But, we really enjoyed ourselves during our short stay there! Weather was awesome, around 20 degrees in the day at 10 degrees by night. Make-up doesn't melt, hair stays great the whole day, plenty of good food, friendly locals and SHOPPING WAS AWESOME! Unbelievable right? I am already looking forward to our next trip there! Hahaha!

We caught the early morning flight! It was quite tough waking up at 6am...as the day before was really hectic! But ok la! Nothing beats shopping for make-up! Picked up the Shu Uemura UV compact foundation & the compact case! This is to complement the UV under base mousse POREraser that I got previously.

I was running low on the Hydrator & Foaming Cleanser and I won't be back in SG for a while except to transit for flights...I remembered vaguely that some DRx products were available on KrisShop. So, prior to the flight I logged into KrisShop online to check it out...
And WOW. They had everything I needed! What a way to stock up my products lol.
I got the following items:
2 x Hydrator (wished they have bigger bottles!)
2 x Foaming Cleanser
1 x Non-tinted Sunscreen
1 x Bio-Cellulose Facial Mask (Never tried this before)

And I couldn't resist adding this highly raved Laneige Two Tone Lip Bar into my shopping cart!
KrisShop, you are really making things too convenient here!
Shortly after breakfast was served onboard, the stewardess came to me and passed me the bag full of my goodies. #happiness

Guess who didn't know how to use the Two Tone Lip Bar?
Personally, I find it a little troublesome! I still prefer their lip tints!

All checked in and we came out to hunt for some small bites before dinner time! The hotel concierge recommended us to visit The Trustee which was of walking distance from our hotel (Parmelia Hilton Perth).

We chose to sit outdoors cos the weather was so fine! Ok actually that's the only place we could sit as indoor seating were meant for guests who were there for proper dinner. lol.

Tired face but still wanna take photos! #vain

This is really who I am la. I roll my eyes too often sometimes...

Couldn't resist a glass of Pinot Noir

MMM! The Spicy Lamb Meatballs was totally on point! The Croquettes was yummy too!

Regrouped with W's family for dinner! While the rest went to the casino... I had a little 'WE' time with the future sissy-in-law over some Little Creatures Pale Ale at The Merrywell

Off to Rockpool for dinner! I only managed to take photos of what I ate that evening, not the rest though!

Freshly shucked oysters to share!

While the guys enjoyed their steaks...I opted for the Crispy Pink Snapper with Aioli Sauce.
Crispy on the outside, succulent on the inside! Right up my alley!

Almost every other table had this Vanilla Custard filled Doughnuts with Apple Compote & Hazelnut Ice Cream on the side. We had to have one too! It was delicious!

End of our short day! Returned back to the hotel to charge our drained batteries for our pre-wedding shoot happening the next morning!

Perth Day 3

Starting the day early again cos I am set to realise a secret dream of mine today! You'll find out soon!

We went to the same cafe across to grab breakfast.

Perfect weather again!

And make up session starts!

WHAT'S HAPPENING?
Ok let me get started. I've always been fascinated by the Addams Family (I was introduced to them by my Dad a long time ago). I fell in love with Morticia Addams and I've always admired the simple love she had with Gomez. And I really love the Addams Family 1964 TV series with Carolyn Jones as Morticia Addams, in my heart she is the REAL Morticia Addams lol. She's so elegant & beautiful please! I've always tried to dress up as Morticia for Halloween but I never got down to really making an exact dress like hers.

#madhot

WHY SO RANDOM?
You must be wondering if it was really necessary to have these photos taken in Perth. Lol to be honest, this decision was really random. Story was, I was searching for a photographer based in Perth for our pre-wedding shoot right (as mentioned in my previous post), one day while searching on google...I chanced upon David Woolley. David is a freelance photographer and he specialise in Vintage Glamour photography. I was really drawn to his Hollywood Portraits. The photos were amazing, I've always liked the Old Hollywood Glamour. So classy & sophisticated! I decided to engage him to do a couple of Hollywood Portraits for W & I. Then I went to spy his work on facebook...and I found out that he's pretty good at gothic shoots too! I emailed him right away and asked for his thoughts about doing an Addams Family inspired shoot for us instead. HE WAS THRILLED and I went bonkers...not kidding! It's like a dream come true for me! He too was a fan! I haven't met too many people who like Addams Family as much as I do la, probably it's not too popular in Singapore.

Now for the dress...I think having an exact dress was important. But I had no luck in finding one and it was getting impossible with the limited time I had. I decided I needed to find a seamstress in Kuching to try and make one for me...well, I could always go back to taking the Hollywood Portraits if the dress didn't turn out well right? So, I asked around and through my super helpful Wedding Planner from Kuching...I got in touch with a seamstress who could make the dress within the short time frame I had! I was elated. She took about a week plus to come out with...

O.M.G.

My first fitting! My goodness. I still remember gasping when I first saw the dress on the mannequin. IT WAS THE DRESS! I think I was more excited than looking for my wedding dress! She really did an awesome job in my opinion. There's definitely room for improvement but I didn't have enough time...so I'll just make do with this (which has already exceeded my expectations big time)!

Ok back to David Woolley, so he is a home-based photographer with a studio at home! He was really really friendly and very dedicated to his work/ hobby. Look what I found at his home? True fan!

The seamstress in Kuching did such a great job la, look at my sleeves!

I will only reveal the photos after our wedding haha! Surprise surprise! Anyway W was such a Gomez, not kidding. He totally stole the limelight in some of the photos! He really channelled his inner Gomez lol!!! So proud of him!

And here, it's me with our super friendly, easy-going photographer. I know I look horrible here in this photo cos of the bad lighting and angle but no choice! It's my only photo with David!

After the shoot, we had to head back to the hotel to remove my make-up. Haha! It was crazy thick to achieve the pale look exactly like Morticia. Actually, I was quite disappointed cos I realised even with the right make-up & dress...I still look far from the gorgeous Carolyn Jones.
If any director in Asia is looking to reshoot the Addams Family TV series, please let me know? I'll come for the audition right away! #dreaming

Back to Fremantle to have FISH & CHIPS!

We went to Kailis' Fish Market as recommended by Jason (our pre-wedding photographer) & a fellow Dayrean based in Perth!

Fresh seafood!!!

O.M.G.
I had the best Fish & Chips in my entire life. I'm ruined, there's no way I'm having any other Fish & Chips.

Aioli sauce is my favourite! It goes so well with my fish la! Just like chocolate & banana.

We definitely over ordered...the prawns & scallops weren't as great though...

The oysters were awesome, they were HUGE! As big as the lemon wedge!

And we explored the Fremantle Market! I had so much fun there, plenty of things to see and quirky stuff to buy! We were lucky we were there on a Friday, the shops were opened till 8pm!

Huge-ass Peppa Pig anyone?

Found an organic selling all sorts of beauty products. Right up my alley! Too bad they didn't allow photos! I got myself some Jojoba lip balm!

The same Dayrean suggested that we make a trip to Fremantle Prison! It was a great recommendation, W & I enjoyed it very much! We went for the torchlight tour at night.

It was raining on the way there, luckily the rain stopped when our tour started!
But first, #selfie lol.

Our guide was hilarious please. He made the whole tour light-hearted and fun. There were some creepy moments but it was all manageable!

If you are visiting Perth, I recommend to make a trip to Fremantle Prison! They have day tours too! But I think night tours are more fun lol.

The gallows!

How prisoners get flogged!

Perth's city night view. Lovely isn't it?
